Microhardness and flexural strength of two 3D-printed denture base resins

چکیده

Objectives: To evaluate the microhardness and flexural strength of printed conventionally produced denture base acrylic resins. Methods: A total 32 parallelepiped specimens (64×10×3.3 mm) were manufactured using two light-cured resins suitable for 3D printing (V-Print Dentbase Denture 3D+) heat-cured conventional production (Probase Hot Villacryl Rapid) (n=8). After 24-h storage in water, Knoop (98.12 mN load 30 s) three-point (1 kN cell, at a crosshead speed 5 mm/min 50 mm between rods) determined. Microhardness data analyzed with one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey post-hoc tests. Flexural submitted to Kruskal-Wallis test. significance level 5% was considered (α=0.05). Results: The showed statistically significant (p<0.001) differences regarding < 3D+ Probase Rapid). No (p=0.527) found four Conclusions: had lower values than resins, but all similar strength.

Flexural strength of provisional crown and fixed partial denture resins.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Provisional prostheses are subject to flexure under function. Selection of the appropriate material for their fabrication is difficult given the limited evidence-based information on the flexural strength of provisional resins. PURPOSE This study compared the flexural strength of 5 methacrylate-based resins and 8 bis-acryl resins used to fabricate provisional crowns and f...

Elastic modulus and flexural strength comparisons of high-impact and traditional denture base acrylic resins.

BACKGROUND Fractures of acrylic resin dentures are a common occurrence in clinical dentistry. The denture may be fractured accidentally when dropped or while in service in the mouth due to flexural fatigue. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to compare the elastic modulus and the flexural strength between two heat-cured acrylic resins used in denture bases: a high-impact resin (Lucitone 199...

Flexural properties and impact strength of denture base resins reinforced with micronized glass flakes

OBJECTIVES To investigate the effect of the addition of glass flakes on physical properties of conventional heat cure denture base resins and to compare it with a high impact strength denture base resin. MATERIALS AND METHODS Test specimens were divided into Group 1 - poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) (Trevalon), Group 2 - Trevalon HI, Group 3 -5% glass flake +95% PMMA (Trevalon), Group 4 -10...

Palatal vault depth influence on the flexural strength of two heat cure acrylic denture base resins: an in vitro study.

UNLABELLED Complete dentures often fracture during normal masticatory function. The reason could be due to the shape of the palate, i.e. deep, medium or shallow palatal vault. This in vitro study was performed to determine the relationship of palatal vault depth and flexural strength of two different permanent denture base resins. Edentulous maxillary casts of patients were collected from the d...

Effect of Post-polymerization Treatments on the Flexural Strength and Vickers Hardness of Reline and Acrylic Denture Base Resins

This study evaluated the effect of water-bath and microwave post-polymerization treatments on the flexural strength and Vickers hardness of four autopolymerizing reline resins (Duraliner II-D, Kooliner-K, Tokuso Rebase Fast-TR and Ufi Gel Hard C-UGH) and one heat-polymerized acrylic resin (Lucitone 550-L), processed using two polymerization cycles (short cycle - 90 minutes at 73 degrees C and 1...
